Synod on the New Evangelization

October 26, 2012. (Romereports.com) The meetings and discussions of the Synod on the New Evangelization,  have come to a close.

To sort out all the information and ideas that were talked about these last 20 days, a  conference was held at the Vatican's press office. The conclusions were given by Cardinal Giuseppe Betori who serves as the Archbishop of Florence. Also there was Monsignor Pierre-Marie Carré of Montpellier along with the Archbishop of Manila and soon to be Cardinal, Luis Antonio Tagle.

“I also would like to stress the message. In many parts of message, we find a humble, a very humble Church. But it also admits it shares the wounds of society. This is not pessimism. It's encouraging to have a Church that speaks the language of the people.”

The Archbishop of Manila also talked about the positive and optimistic attitudes reflected in the Synod. He said it's not because they're in denial or because they don't recognize the challenges of the Church. Instead it's because they have hope and faith that the New Evangelization can be carried out.

On Sunday, Benedict XVI will officially close the Synod on the New Evangelization with a Mass in St. Peter's Square. He will then begin to write a document that summarizes all the main points and conclusions of the Synod.
